Heat Exchanger Products Corp. (HEPCO) was pleased to join with Hennigan Engineering in attending and exhibiting at the AEP BRO FORUM or American Electric Power – Boiler Reliability Optimization Forum on August 11-13, 2015.  This year’s forum was held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, in Columbus, Ohio.

HEPCO displayed samples of our high-quality, made in the USA, tube plug products including our own “Plug and Track” identification system, where the Plants can color code tubes for known problems by marking them with our different color options. Optimization of boilers, heat exchangers and condensers are so important to plant efficiency and overall performance.

We enjoyed meeting so many people from the American Electric Power Plants and appreciated the opportunity to represent our products.

On February 2-5, 2015 the Heat Exchanger Performance User Group (HXPUG) held their Annual HXPUG Meeting. HEPCO was proud to attend this year’s meeting along with other nuclear industry personnel involved with performance and maintenance of heat exchangers. This year’s meeting was held at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation in Amelia Island, FL.

The goal of this year’s meeting was to provide attendees with further heat exchanger knowledge and training and provide a forum for heat exchanger issue resolution and information exchange. The four-day event consisted of one all-day training session, open door sessions for technology suppliers and HXPUG funders and closed door sessions for HXPUG funders only. There was also was a Vendor Fair held on Tuesday evening.

We at HEPCO take pride in manufacturing one of the most reliable condenser tube plugs found today including other valuable products for several industries, including electrical generating power plants (nuclear and fossil), pulp and paper and petro-chemical.

With the start of 2015 upon us, here at Hepco we are celebrating our success found in 2014, as well as the numerous opportunities we’ve had to network and connect with other experts and professionals in the Power Generation industry. In 2014 we are proud to have attended numerous conferences, conventions and expos around the country, and we look forward to the exciting functions we plan to attend this year.
2014, A Great Year With Many Great Experiences
For our team, the value of attending meetings, expositions and other events extends beyond the ability to network. Each event allows us to expose and display new heat exchanger plugs in our product line, gain exposure for our brand, and obtain valuable information about the newest industry developments, trends, and breakthroughs. At each event we also get the opportunity to conference with knowledgeable power plant personnel, many of whom become clients, or connect us with potential leads. It’s the combination of these valuable benefits and connections that motivate us to attend these functions year after year.
Ending The Year On A High Note
To bring 2014 to a close with one final event, we attended Power-Gen International, December 9-11 in Orlando Florida. This world-renowned event provides a stage for the newest ideas, innovations, and solutions in the power generation industry. The function attracts monumental attendance, with this year’s event bringing in a record-breaking 22,000 attendees from around the world. This powerful forum offered 5 days of tours, workshops, conference sessions, exhibitions and panel discussions, as well as unmatched networking opportunities.
2015 Heat Exchanger Performance User Group Meeting
To kick off the new year, we look forward to attending the annual Heat Exchanger Performance User Group or (HXPUG) meeting which is held in Amelia Island, Florida in February of 2015. This unique function welcomes nuclear industry professionals who are involved with the maintenance and performance of heat exchangers. Hepco will be exhibiting our products at the Vendor Fair, as well as attending papers at the forum. This meeting offers the unique opportunity for our team to broaden their heat exchanger knowledge and contribute to discussions which help steer the direction of future heat exchanger research.

So much more to come as we reflect on the connections, knowledge, and exposure we’ve gained throughout 2014, we look forward to filling our schedule with numerous functions to attend in the coming year. The power generation industry is ever changing and developing with new research and innovations.

We value each and every opportunity to connect and convene with the individuals and companies at the forefront of these discoveries. Please stay tuned for further details on the other events we will attend in 2015.

HEPCO is proud to be a part of the Electric Power trade show, being held in New Orleans this upcoming April 1-3, 2014. Presented by Power Magazine, the conference is focused on maintaining and improving upon clean energy standards, and new innovations in the power industry.

HEPCO will be showcasing their newest heat exchanger and condenser tube plugs for industry professionals from all over the world, including their newest technology, “Plug and Track” tube plug markers.

Nine individual tracks, including a new CHP/Cogeneration Track, are included in the event schedule. The three days are made up of floor exhibitions, the Plant Management Institute, as well as the Women in POWER segment, which HEPCO is also participating in. Women in POWER is an event that allows high level female power professionals to network and share their concerns, expertise, and strategies. Colleen Campbell of Oakton Energy will be moderating these discussions which are vital to the growth of the female demographic within the industry.

Environmental, plant management, disruptive technology, and power industry executive sessions will take place throughout the daily agendas. The conference will also include keynote speakers, specialty receptions and focus groups comprised of the most experienced and successful innovators in the power industry.

The 16th iteration of the Electric Power gathering of minds will take place at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Speakers and moderators include a prestigious line up of professionals, including Jeff Perry, Chief Development Officer, Veolia Energy North America, Tony Laska, Owner, E&E Strategies, Tim Mehl, Director of Development and Compliance, CMS Energy Corporation, Paul Cauduro, Executive Director, Texas Combined Heat and Power Initiative, Jack Kelly, Project Manager, Energy & Power Solutions Group, Jacobs Engineering, Suresh Jambunathan, Director of Business Development, Recycled Energy Development, and Steven P. Yambor, PE, Senior Consultant, Commonwealth Associates, Inc.

The heat exchanger plug engineers at HEPCO are proud to announce their newest product line, “Plug and Track” Tube Indicators. This color coded system of plugging provides technicians visual indication of patterns of tube failures within a condenser or heat exchanger. Plant Personnel and subtractors alike benefit from the improved efficiency of predicting future failures and determining root causes.

Using our color coding system, a specific problem can be readily identified and the same system can be applied to other heat exchangers/condensers within the same plant.  This Company-wide standardization can help streamline communication between personnel.

They can be used for a wide range common problems, from wall loss to pitting to obstructions.

Our HEPCO “Plug and Track” tube plugs are easily extracted, causing no damage to tube or tubesheet, to allow for retesting of the tubes during future outages.  The tubes can then be easily reclassified and help predict rates of future failures.

Contact HEPCO for more information about the “Plug and Track” line and wide range of additional heat exchanger and condenser tube plugs.
